* Mesh is a database of elevation data, or how the terrain fluctuates in height from a valley to a mountain, with all else in between. The higher the resolution of the mesh, the more detailed and intrincate the terrain will look three-dimensionally on screen.
* Landclass is a database of types of terrain (forest, desert, jungle, urban neighborhood, rural farmland, etc). It indicates what sort of texture should be applied on top of the mesh, and where. The more accurate the landclass the better the virtual terrain will be laid out.
* Textures are graphical depictions of the terrain (texture files), and as mentioned, they are applied right on top of the mesh according to the data indicated by the landclass.
* The Autogen furthers the sense of depth by adding 3D models to the scenery, also under the directions of the landclass. On urban areas it will add 3D buildings and houses, on rural areas, 3D farmhouses, trees and fences, and so on.
