Am 02.10.1990 endet die historische Existenz der DDR und damit auch der Kalte Krieg in Mitteleuropa. Noch aber befinden sich sowjetische Besatzungstruppen auf deutschem Boden. Im Dezember 1990 gelingt es erstmalig, im Zuge von Glasnost unzensierte Filmaufnahmen beim 33. Sowjetischen Jagdfliegergeschwader in Wittstock zu machen.
Es entstanden eindrucksvolle Bilder vom Leben in einer sowjetischen Garnison. Bilder, die historisch und fliegerisch Interessierte gleichermaßen begeistern.
