Gibt es eigentlich VOZ für den Flight Simulator X ?

Hallo liebe Leute!
Ich habe mal eben ein wenig gegoogelt, bin aber nicht so recht fündig geworden. Daher nun an euch meine Frage:
  • Gibt es eigentlich wieder VOZ für den FSX?
Hab' hier und da mal etwas über ein sogenanntes VSX (oder so ähnlich) gelesen, aber auf der "Vista Australis" Homepage konnt ich dazu- wie auch zu meiner Frage- nix finden...
Wisst ihr vielleicht mehr darüber?

Liebe Grüße Simon :)

Sollte es ( noch ) geben ... bei Australia FlightSim konnte man im Oktober 08 folgendes lesen ...

Zitat

In an announcement on the Vista Australis forums, John "Koorby" Venema writes: "I am pleased to announce that the VOZ Team will be releasing a special FSX-only version of VOZ. We anticipate it to be available before Christmas. It will be a seperate release to VOZ and will begin at version 2.00 - it wil include all the features of VOZ 1.3 but have all FSX-incompatible components removed and will add new textures.

The VOZ 1.x series will continue to be FS9 focused, and the VOZ 2.x series will be FSX-only. The will remain FREEWARE, be community driven, and be a 5m/pixel texture addon."

Some info on VOZ 2.00:

- All VOZ 2.00 textures will be at 5m/pixel resolution, but you can continue to use them with the FSX 1m/pixel textures. When running FSX at 1m textures on the slider, the engine automatically upscales the VOZ 2.00 5m textures to 1m and provides a seamless experience.

- There will be new bushland forest textures to cater to the broader pallette used by FSX. (In some cases MS has introduced up to 10 additional tiles per forest!!) These new textures currently create a "patchwork" effect where VOZ tiles and FSX tiles adjoin each other. We will be using Google Earth imagery to create some exciting new Aussie bushland textures to solve this issue.

- All custom coastlines in QLD and TAS will be removed - FSX has vastly improved coastlines for the whole of Australia

- All custom roads will be removed - FSX has superior coverage

- Matt Tomkins' VOZ trees will be converted to FSX format. In addition, FSX also add many new eucalypts when autogen is set to dense.

- All VOZ city/urban/town textures will be removed, because the FSX urban textures provide much more detail, even though the asphalt is the incorrect colour.

- We may or may not provide the VOZ water colouring (note, colouring only, not the flatter bump map). That will depend on what FSX users think of the new water. If you miss the "Aussie-fied" water colour we can add it in

- 90% of all the VOZ 1.x scenery will be retained, and will work fine in FSX. However, there is a lot of work to be done with new excludes, since MS have added a lot of new buildings in FSX, which the FS9 excludes are not picking up. Some older scenery will be removed where the FSX version is superior or where there are incompatibilities with FSX.

- VOZ 2.00 will rely on John Dow's Landclass to work correctly, so this LC will be part of the release. Without the LC, Australia in FSX looks like a barren wasteland!

- There is no longer a need for Andy Weir's mesh to be used in Australia, since the quality of the 76m default mesh in FSX is far superior to Andy's - which is great news!

- We wil only create a single region, most likely based on the VOZ SE Region. There will be a new switcher which simply turns VOZ 2.00 "ON" or "OFF". There is increased seasonal coverage in FSX and also a new red centre outback texture set, thus eliminating the need for regions. The only region which may benefit from unique textures would be north Queensland, but I believe Matt Tomkins has been working on some new textures for that area so we may be able to create a small batch file solution to "switch in" FNQ for those who need it.

More information to come soon. But rest assured that those of you planning to use FSX over the summer will be able to enjoy the colours of Australia!
Gruß Klaus
