Zitat

Today, we uploaded the release candidate for the Cheyenne 2.0 to our servers. Unless we stumble over some serious bugs in the next few days, it will be released the week after next. Everybody who’s interested can already download the release candidate from the public beta section of our forums: http://www.digital-aviation.de/forum/vie…&t=6105&start=0

So, why 2.0?

There’s a simple but important reason for bumping the version number up to 2.0: Escape from version hell. We want a common version number for both, the FS2004 and FSX versions, and we’re perfectly sure that customers want this too. Aerosoft will also prepare new installers for this version so there’s no need to start at v1.00 and download tons of service packs to finally get the latest version.

There’s another reason for this. You might be aware that the navdata format introduced with the Cheyenne is in use with several other add-ons like the Flight1 Cessna Mustang and Super 80 products and of course our Fokker. As more and more developers are using this format, Navigraph and us decided to put the navdata in a more “neutral” location than the “Digital Aviation” folder. This location will be “<FS Folder>\Navigraph\NavData”. The Cessna Mustang already uses this folder, the Cheyenne and Fokker will start doing so starting with the release of the upcoming service packs.
So, the bump to 2.0 will help everybody to identify their version of the Cheyenne in order to get the correct navdata installer from the Navigraph site. (Note: the new path will be in the release version only, not in this release candidate!)

There’s a simple way to identify version 2.0: load the aircraft and watch the Trimble startup “screens”. If it says “SYSTEM CODE: DA02 c2009″ you got v2.0

What will follow?

To be honest, the Cheyenne has pretty much reached the end of its development cycle. This means there won’t be any more service packs unless it’s about real show stoppers. It’s CRJ time now and after that we certainly will have to start thinking about other simulation platforms and perhaps there will be a new version of the Cheyenne when a successor for FS (whoever might do that) finally hits the shelves.

Hello everybody,

We finally put all the pieces together and here's the release candidate for the Cheyenne 2.0. What's so 2.0 about it, you ask? Well, I posted a few notes about this on our website.

Here's a list of everything that has been changed (including all previous public betas). I can't guarantee that all fixes and changes made it to this list though.

And here they are, the download links:
Cheyenne 2.0 RC for FSX (43.705.739 Bytes) Updated 17.05.2009
Cheyenne 2.0 RC for FS2004 (43.877.657 Bytes) Updated 17.05.2009

This is an update and requires the full version of the Cheyenne!

If you encounter any problem with these versions, please post your findings in a new thread in the public beta area. Do not re-use old (pre-RC dated) threads. As usual, any information you can give is helpful (except for Windows error reports - those are useless). Any detail that helps us to reproduce issues is highly appreciated. Thanks

Nichts Konkretes. Außer dass es Probleme mit ASA gab und dass nach einem Final Check die Daten zu Aerosoft gehen. Nico081, der auch bei uns angemeldet ist, hat dort nachgefragt

Piper Cheyenne - Version 4.00 Wednesday, 01.07.2009

Gauges:

* GPS causes a CTD at first section of a DME Arc leg
* GPS causes a CTD when selecting FPL after a "direct to" was selected on WPT page
* GPS causes a CTD when selecting a SID (runway) on the WPT page
* More GPS CTRS
* DME Arc drawing routine fixed
* Wrong drift angle indication on NAV page fixed
* Wrong NM per gallon calculation fixed
* Direct-To functionality fixed
* Hold inbound course selection fixed
* Missing decimal on fuel used display fixed
* Sound volumes save error fixed
* Heading bug can now be controlled by key commands KEY_HEADING_BUG_DEC and KEY_HEADING_BUG_INC (see gauges.h in FS SDK)
* Altitude arm can now be controlled by key command KEY_AP_PANEL_ALTITUDE_HOLD (see gauges.h in FS SDK)
* Selected altitude can now be controlled by key commands KEY_AP_ALT_VAR_INC and KEY_AP_ALT_VAR_DEC (see gauges.h in FS SDK)
* Turning heading bug on co-pilot HSI does no longer change GPS course
* GPS CDI switching to Approach Mode before passing initial waypoint
* Joining of legs in procedures fixed
* One additional issue with intercepting a direct to course fixed
* KEY_AP_ALT_VAR_DEC and KEY_AP_ALT_VAR_INC events for the autopilot pitch control (see gauges.h in FS SDK)
* Fixed a bug which could cause the Trimble to CTD when a SID/STAR/Approach with only one waypoint was selected
* Removed daylight check for night lighting (night lighting can be used at all times now)
* Fixed a problem with multiple identical waypoints in the flight plan (like EDDF - GED - GED - GED - EDDE)
* Added "UseTrimble" configuration switch. See below for details.
* Magnetic variation data is now read directly from Flight Simulator's magdec.bgl file
* Fixed CDI indication on direct-to legs
* Fixed dome and cabin lighting

Model:

* IIXL: AP Warning and Free Gyro annunciators order corrected
* Taxi/Landing Lights exchanged on exterior model (FS9 only)

These things will not be fixed (Reasons in brackets):

* GPU visible in multiplayer mode (would require a major rework of the model which is currently not possible)
* Pressing Shift+L turns on the landing light (this happens with a delay and I still don't know why. Please use the light switch instead if you want to avoid the problem)

"UseTrimble" switch:

Some users requested this feature in order to put something more modern into the Cheyenne cockpit, so we introduced the UseTrimble switch in PA31.cfg

Here's what it does:
UseTrimble=1: The Cheyenne uses the Trimble and the GPS/NAV switch works as usual

UseTrimble=0: The Cheyenne uses the default GPS, the GPS/NAV switch works as in the FS default aircraft and the Trimble knobs in VC are hidden.

This allows you to replace the Trimble with something else.
Please note that we still don't support any third party solution so please don't ask for our help when modifying panel.cfg.
